LP2M UIN SATU News Room — Surabaya, 27 February 2026 — Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung attended the activity Socialization and Coordination of the East Java Melaju Research Program 2026 which was held in the SA Floor Main Courtroom 1 Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology Rectorate Building (ITS), Sukolilo, Surabaya.
This activity is a strategic momentum to strengthen research collaboration between state universities (PTN) and PTKIN throughout East Java in order to encourage collaborative and sustainable research-based regional development.
This event was attended by the Chancellor of UNESA and Chair of the East Java PTN Chancellor's Forum, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes.; Rector ITS, Prof. Bambang Pramujati, S.T., M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D.; ITS Deputy Chancellor IV, Agus Muhamad Hatta, S.T., M.Si., Ph.D.; Head of BRIDA East Java, Dr. Andriyanto, S.H., M.Kes.; Heads/Directors of LPPM/DRPM PTN throughout East Java; the Heads of Research Sub-Directorates/Heads of Research Centers; as well as admins managing research at PTN East Java.
In his speech, Rector ITS, Prof. Bambang Pramujati, S.T., M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., emphasized that collaborative research is directed at supporting the East Java Provincial Government's priority programs as well as increasing the achievements of reputable international publications.
The hope, every PTN in East Java can increase its Scopus indexed publications significantly (60–100 publications), while also contributing to regional strategic programs.
The "Jatim Melaju 2026" program itself is designed as a collaborative research grant that builds synergy between PTNs to strengthen academic reputation and produce real impacts on society..
Chancellor of UNESA, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., adding that this collaboration should strengthen the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (THAT) and Additional Performance Indicators (ICT) College, includes publications, citation, downstream, commercialization, as well as research contributions to public policy and regional development.
He also underlined the importance of flexibility for research clusters so that they are not only focused on STEM fields, rather, it provides space for the advantages and uniqueness of each university, including the social-humanities and religious fields.
Collaboration that brings together these characteristics is considered to produce models and prototypes that are applicable and adaptive to regional needs.
Furthermore, Head of BRIDA East Java, Dr. Andriyanto, S.H., M.Kes., conveyed that the regional government had compiled a Problem Inventory List (DIM) which continues to grow—from around 300 problem on 2023 to be more than 600 on 2025.
The issue of poverty (both structural and cultural), food security, basic services (education and health), new and renewable energy, so that strengthening the regional financial system becomes a real challenge that requires research-based solutions.
The East Java Melaju program is considered very relevant because it can become a "clinic" for solving real community problems, not just produce publications.
Furthermore, he said that there are two main keywords for accessing research support from the Regional Government, ie downstream And connectivity. Research is expected not to stop at the academic exterior, rather it is able to be integrated with public policy and sustainable development, he concluded.
Conceptually, East Java Melaju's research focus is aligned with the East Java Province RPJMD 2025–2029, 9 Nawa Bhakti Satya Priority Mission, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In the socialization session moderated by Dr. Alvin Mustikawan, M.Pd., Director of ITS DRPM, Fadlilatul Taufany, S.T., Ph.D., lays out a mandatory collaboration architecture (the golden rule), namely one host from PTNBH (Cluster A) with at least one partner from Cluster A from a different university, as well as 1-3 partners from Cluster B (PTN/PTKIN) which are different from each other. This scheme is designed to strengthen structured research networks across clusters.
The mandatory output target for this program is at least one international journal article indexed by Scopus (minimal Q3), with patterns co-authorship across clusters and includes at least one SDGs keyword.
Each applicant can apply for funding of a maximum of IDR 50,000,000.00 sourced from each applicant's PTNBH/PTN. The proposal process is carried out through the RKI SIM platform (risetkolaborasi.its.ac.id) managed by ITS, with the launching and socialization stages, review proposal, signing the contract, monitoring and evaluation, until final reporting.
The duration of the program implementation 16 April to 25 November 2026, begins with socialization on 27 February 2026.
After socialization, The activity continued with the East Java LPPM/DRPM PTN Forum Coordination Meeting hosted by the ITS DRPM Director.
Apart from discussing the technical management and implementation of collaborative research, The coordination meeting also scheduled opportunities for community service collaboration (both domestic and foreign), including community economic empowerment schemes and productive waqf, as well as implementation plans East Java LPPM Colloquium: Research, Innovation, and Community Empowerment as a forum for sharing good practices and benchmarking governance.
The participation of LP2M UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung in this forum confirms the institution's commitment to actively collaborate in the East Java research ecosystem.
As part of Cluster B, UIN SATU Tulungagung has a strategic opportunity to strengthen the contribution of Islamic-based research, social-humanities, and transformative service that is integrated with the regional development agenda.
Through the East Java Melaju program 2026, It is hoped that research synergy will be built which will not only increase reputable publications, but also produce models, prototype, and policies that are applicable to the people of East Java and Indonesia.
