WEEK – Students of KKN RM IAIN Tulungagung Pule Village held a themed socialization “Socialization of River Watershed Cleanliness”. This event took place at the Pule Village Hall. This activity was held Friday 9 August 2019.
This event was made possible, motivated by the abundance of rubbish in the river. Investigate and investigate, This happened due to lack of facilities, Temporary Disposal Site (TPS), in the Pule area.
To make people truly aware of the importance of clean river watersheds, KKN students collaborate with several parties, among them: village officials, district authorities, Department of Housing for Environmental Residential Areas (PKPLH), and Koramil.
This socialization was attended directly by the Head of Pule District, Joko Susanto. This event was highly appreciated by him.
“This is a great idea, very brilliant. I really appreciate this event, This event is able to facilitate the government's goals.” Joko said.
All parties fully support this event.
The resource person for this event is Muhari, Pule Health Center Sanitarian. He explained the Five Pillars of Sanitation regarding the main points of environmental health which consist of:: Defecating indiscriminately, wash your hands with soap and running water, provision of clean water and healthy food, waste handling, and household waste disposal. His presentation focused on the waste problem.
This event does not only focus on the impact of waste on health, and environment, but also invites residents to work together to find a solution to the waste problem. The results of the discussion include:; there will be action from this socialization event, that is “Movement” or the devotional work of cleaning the river, there will be additional facilities, namely the creation of TPS, and making Village Regulations (Curtain) regarding waste disposal policies.
Follow up on socialization activities, there will be Movement on Saturday, 10 August 2019. The starting point of cleaning Movement this prime, namely in the river near the Pule District Field. Hope with socialization activities and “movement” premier, will make people aware of the importance of clean river watersheds.
With the cleanliness of the river, Residents can use the river to fulfill their daily lives, and also if you are able to process it into tourism, will improve the local economy.
