Kesamben, Bumirejo – One of the initial activities carried out by the KKN education division of IAIN Tulungagung in an effort to help understand the science and knowledge that students around the post gain from their formal schools, so we plan an educational work program by holding free lessons.
“Free lessons are held on Tuesdays 14 January 2020 right after the opening of the IAIN Tulungagung KKN in Bumirejo village. Free lessons start at 15:00 WIB after school children take part in Koran learning activities or TPQ and end at 12:00 p.m 19:30 WIB”, Said the KKN student.
“The education division's initial provision of free tutoring felt overwhelmed by the students who attended. The overflow of students plus a location that cannot accommodate all the students present adds to the unfavorable atmosphere. Because this incident made the lesson uncomfortable, Finally, we divided the classes so that students could concentrate on their studies” he added.
The lessons held every Monday to Wednesday are followed by several levels of classes in the Primary School. To anticipate the influx of students taking free lessons, Then the schedule is divided according to the elementary school class level.
One of the KKN Students Delivered, “For class 1 until class 5 Free lessons are conducted on the hour 15.00 WIB (or after completing TPQ) Until what time 18.00 WIB (after the congregation prays Maghrib) and specifically for class 6 Free lessons are conducted on the hour 18.00 WIB arrived 19.30 WIB”.
“This free lesson also holds Maghrib and Isha'ah prayers together in the prayer room. This aims to train students' spiritual attitudes. After each student performs the congregational prayer, they continue with lessons again until the hour 19.00 WIB” he said.
The Chairman of the KKN Command Post said, “The atmosphere during lessons is very crowded. They are very happy and enthusiastic about this free tutoring program. This also fuels our enthusiasm, because the program we hold can help and be accepted by the children, and with this we can also share knowledge with children”.
“There are many things that attract attention in this study, Many children already have a high grade level but still have a level of desire to learn that is not very good. So many children don't understand calculations, reading and literacy as well as inappropriate behavior”, he added.

With this lesson, Local residents paid special attention to appreciating the KKN students' activities by giving them purple sweet potatoes.
These purple sweet potatoes were given to us to be processed and given to the children who took this free lesson as learning companions. And the children also ate our purple sweet potatoes. Said the Free Tutoring Student.
