This activity is a work program from the Health and Environment Division which targets local residents.
It is hoped that this activity can further strengthen the relationship between KKN students and local residents. Besides that, Planted lemongrass can be used as a cooking spice as well as a beverage ingredient, It can even be used to increase income for local residents. Income for the village that is being sought from Pehdoplang hamlet is interested in planting lemongrass.
Lemongrass is a plant that is rich in benefits such as warding off free radicals, treat cavities, relieve anxiety, control blood pressure, is anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, and treat rheumatism and seizures.
The process of collecting seeds was carried out by the Health and Environment Division by taking seeds from the garden in Brintrik Hamlet the previous day. Then the seeds are separated one by one to make planting easier. On Sunday morning at 6.30, The KKN students and residents were ready and headed to the location on foot because the distance traveled was not far from the post. Lemongrass is planted on the left and right sides of the road, leaving a distance of one meter between each plant. KKN students and residents work together to plant plants, some are part of hoeing the soil, some are part of planting.
The enthusiasm of the local community for planting lemongrass is truly supportive. Both in terms of planting or finding seeds that are easy to obtain and easy to grow. The soil is so fertile that it is easy to plant any plant in this area. (Diki Setiawan_poskosuru2)
