This has been a valuable experience for me. Go to a very distant island, namely in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. I was there because I qualified as a 3T Nusantara KKN participant representing IAIN Tulungagung.
The presence of the Nusantara 3T KKN program with the theme of peace building (religious moderation) This makes for an unforgettable experience. The location chosen is one of the sub-districts in Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, namely in Sulamu District, which is placed in seven villages..
I was part of group seven which was the last group placed in Bipolo Village. In group seven of Bipolo Village, I found a lot of truly extraordinary ibrah and wisdom related to religious moderation.. I used to dream of learning about other religions, and by God's will, by participating in the Nusantara 3T KKN, you will gain a lot of knowledge about the Christian religion.
According to the survey 81.1 score index KUB (Harmony of Religious People) above the national average according to the Ministry of Religion 2019 dedicating NTT to be ranked second as a region that upholds tolerance after West Papua, until there is an abbreviation for NTT, namely Nusa Terindah Toleransi.
The eight of us have found evidence that this is indeed true. We, who come from various Islamic universities with various backgrounds, are in fact well received by the people of Bipolo Village, the majority of whom are Protestant Christians..
In the population records there are only three Muslim family cards. We lived in the house of the Head of Hamlet II, Marthen L. Abani, who has been our Oppa for this month, can also be said to be our Field Supervisor (DPL) our group.
Although in fact Oppa is a Christian, However, we are treated like our own children who really appreciate our daily worship activities as Muslims. We feel like we live in a brotherly environment without religious barriers.
We, the participants of KKN Nusantara, are here to invite the community to build community welfare and national progress in accordance with the abilities and potential of the community itself..
By using the Asset Based Community Development method (ABCD), We are trying to empower the people of Bipolo Village by focusing on potential and economic aspects. In general, in Sulamu District the greatest potential is farming and animal husbandry, However, in Bipolo Village there is potential that other villages do not have, namely the home industry of weaving crafts which has been a tradition passed down from generation to generation..
Determining which assets need to be empowered in accordance with community potential, we conduct a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) together with the village government and community. From the FGD it can be concluded that weaving is the biggest asset in Bipolo, but limited marketing access means that Bipolo weaving cannot grow rapidly..
Because of the problems faced, the potential that should be able to build prosperity for the people of Bipolo Village is lacking. In this case, we as facilitators who are equipped with knowledge in various fields are trying to provide expedition services in Bipolo Village with JNE as our partner.
By holding an activity that we planned in such a short time, namely the Vibrant Bipolo Cultural Festival by highlighting woven products as its icon..
Our hope is that this activity will be an effort to raise public awareness of the use of technology through the village government and can expand market share so that it can increase community income..
In this activity we also invited all village heads in Sulamu sub-district and KKN students in other villages by providing space for them to promote the assets owned by their service villages..
Unfortunately because the time duration is very limited, so that the process of assisting the community to develop its potential has not been maximized, we had to separate.
But what really gives us an impression of pride, date 1 February was declared Bipolo Weaving Day by the village head and this festival will continue every year.
And on the last day of service, we received good news that JNE had indeed opened a branch in Bipolo to help distribute home industry in Bipolo Village, especially woven craft products..
Some of our efforts and strategies as well as all of our activities during the empowerment process in community service for this month can be seen on our YouTube account "kkn3tdesabipolo" and the Instagram account "@kkn3tdesabipolo" as our popular media highlights.
It was so difficult for us to say goodbye to the extended family of the people of Bipolo Village. However, it cannot be denied that at every meeting there is a separation. My heart trembled when I saw the tears that accompanied our steps when we left them to go our separate ways, many prayers and great hopes join us.
Their great hope is that in the future Indonesian KKN students will be able to come back for a longer period of time as facilitators who accompany them every step of the way to achieve prosperity..
I hope that the KKN Nusantara 3T program can be a reference in the future in carrying out the noble task that students must do, namely serving the community..
Not to be a student who brags about his intelligence but to be a facilitator who is able to invite the community to build a prosperous life in justice and prosperity that is blessed and blessed by Allah SWT with his humility.. (Shafi Nailatul Muyassarah)
