LIFE, SENDANG – In an effort to increase residents' awareness of the landslide disaster several months ago which claimed lives in Bantengan Hamlet, Nyawangan Village., then from the health and environment division of UIN KKN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung in Nyawangan Village held a socialization with the theme Disaster Mitigation to Increase Disaster Awareness Culture in society which was held on Thursday, 09 February 2023 o'clock 9.30 WIB until 10.30 WIB which was held at the Nyawangan Village Hall office.
This activity is carried out with permission from the Village Head, and was well received by him. The aim of carrying out this socialization is to provide understanding to the community about the potential for disasters in Nyawangan Village, especially the potential for landslides which often occur and the community's preparedness if a subsequent disaster occurs.. Remembering that Nyawangan Village itself is a highland village so it is very prone to landslides.
Before the socialization started, the socialization committee had gathered at the village hall office to make advance preparations. The committees are divided according to their respective duties. For example, Sie Perkap is responsible for arranging the place so that it looks neat for use in socializing, The event sie is tasked with organizing the course of socialization, sie deck dok is tasked with taking photos and videos during socialization activities and sie consumption is tasked with preparing food that will be given to socialization participants.
At the beginning of the socialization event, it was opened with prayer, then sang the song Indonesia Raya, followed by remarks from the chairman of the implementation, Village coordinator, and Village Head. At the core of this socialization event was the presentation by the speakers with the socialization theme, namely "Disaster Mitigation to Improve Disaster Awareness Culture in the Community". It closed with a prayer led directly by Mr. Suprapta Wijayanta as speaker. And ended with a photo with village officials and residents.
This socialization activity was attended by 6 Village Head, several RTs and several representatives from residents. As for 6 The hamlet includes:: Puthuk village, Bakalan Hamlet, Bantengan Hamlet, Jajar Hamlet, Klanggeran Hamlet, Klegen Hamlet, Sumberingin Hamlet, and Krajan Hamlet. Students from KKN themselves also enlivened this socialization activity. By participating in this outreach activity, it is hoped that students will be able to find out what potential disasters often occur in Nyawangan Village.
The topic of this socialization is landslides. The speaker for this socialization was Mr. Suprapta Wijayanta. He is a resident of Nyawangan Village himself who is an expert in his field. Previously he offered to be a speaker in outreach activities held by the health and environment division. This offer was very well received by the socialization committee.
As does the theme, This socialization discusses the stages of disaster mitigation, which consist of: 3 namely pre-disaster, during a disaster and after a disaster. It is hoped that the public will be able to understand what steps must be taken when a disaster occurs. How and what should the community do in responding to disasters, especially landslides.
The Head of Jiwangan Village said that in Nyawangan Village there had been a landslide where piles of soil piled up on the road, blocking vehicles from passing.. The community has good intentions to work together to clean up the remains of landslides on the road. However, they did not anticipate that there would be further landslides. This is something that the public is not aware of, resulting in fatalities buried by landslides due to subsequent landslides.
That's a little story from the Head of the Village regarding the landslide disaster that occurred in Nyawangan Village. He also expressed his gratitude to the KKN UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung for holding the socialization.
