
Source, 1 August 2024 – Real Work College Students (KKN) UIN SATU Sumber Village held a wise social media outreach for Sumber State Elementary School students on Thursday, 1 August 2024. This outreach is part of the Regular Wave KKN program 2 with a theme “Multisectoral Community Empowerment Based on Digital Literacy.”
This socialization, which was carried out by the Education and Technology Division, was attended by all students from the Sumber State Elementary School class 3 until 6. UIN SATU Sumber Village KKN students realize that the challenge of digital literacy for elementary school age children is the misuse of social media.
Dawn, in delivering the first material, emphasized the importance of being wise in using social media in the era of revolution 5.0. “In the era of revolution 5.0 We certainly cannot be separated from social media, therefore we must know how to use social media wisely,he said. He also explained the benefits of social media for elementary school age children, like learning something new, get information quickly, and facilitate communication.
Furthermore, Fajar also explained the risks and dangers of using social media that you must be aware of, like cyber bullying, fraud, addicted, and eye damage. “Apart from the benefits I conveyed, You should know that social media has many risks and dangers that you must be aware of,he added.
In the second session, Indana explained the laws governing the use of social media in Indonesia, namely Law no. 19 Year 2016. “In Indonesia, the use of social media has been regulated in law. So don't let yourself think that because social media is only online, you can do whatever you want, everything is regulated by law,” he stressed.
Indana also gave four tips for being wise in using social media:
- Sort the information obtained.
- Think before posting.
- Use social media moderately.
- Be open with parents and teachers.
The students enthusiastically participated in the socialization activities from start to finish. The socialization activity closed with a question and answer session, distribution of door prizes, and take photos together. It is hoped that this activity can provide students with a better understanding of the wise and responsible use of social media, so that they can utilize digital technology positively and productively.
