Tulungagung, Friday, 24 April 2026 — Journal Center, Publication, and LP2M Publishing Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung State Islamic University successfully held activities Bootcamp Virtual Batch #1 with a theme “The Role of SEM-PLS in the Data Science Era: Approaches to Multidisciplinary Research”. This activity was attended by more than 200 Participants come from various academic backgrounds.

The event opened with remarks from the Chairman of LP2M, Prof. Dr. Drink Naim, M.H.I., which emphasizes that research methods are dynamic and continue to develop along with the demands of the times. He also emphasized the importance of increasing academic capacity for researchers as part of a long-term investment in scientific development.

“The method is always dynamic and developing. Therefore, academics need to keep doing upgrade knowledge—from not knowing to knowing, and from those who already know it becomes more profound,he said.

Furthermore, He emphasized that research is the main task of an academic. Activities such as this bootcamp are part of a joint effort to open the horizons of thinking, especially in bridging qualitative approaches with more applicable data analysis.

As the main resource person, Ardiana Fatma Dewi, M.Stat., deliver comprehensive and applicable material related to use Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (NO-PLS) in multidisciplinary research. He explained that in the current era of data science, Social data analysis is no longer limited to conventional approaches, but it can be developed using the SEM-PLS method which is more flexible and powerful.

In his presentation, he also highlighted that information and learning resources are actually widely available, however, success lies in the individual's willingness to access, understand, and implement it in research.

Participants responded positively to this activity. The material presented is considered very relevant to current research needs and opens up new insights in data processing and analysis, especially for researchers in the social and Islamic fields.

Through this activity, LP2M UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung hopes to continue to encourage improvements in the quality of scientific publications and strengthen multidisciplinary research capacity among academics.
