NGERDAN- IAIN Tulungagung KKN students in Ngerdani Village tested the salt consumed by toddlers to determine iodine levels at the same time as POSYANDU activities in Ngerdani Village, Krajan Hamlet. Previously, We were guided on how to test salt levels and also how to measure the height and weight of toddlers because it coincides with posyandu activities..
In this activity we did not directly examine the salt, because many Posyandu mothers did not bring salt because they forgot. We also immediately helped the female cadres measure their height and weight and assisted with Posyandu activities carried out at POSKESDES Krajan. And we are also happy because there are lots of adorable and funny toddlers.
Because many mothers did not bring salt that day, Village Midwife Ngerdani immediately instructed the mothers to collect salt at one of the toddler's parents' houses to be taken by students and tested at the KKN post.. We waited for the next day and immediately checked the salt levels consumed by toddlers in Ngerdani Village, especially Krajan Hamlet.
The results of the examination, Many salts lack iodine and even have no iodine content at all and there are only a few that contain sufficient iodine. We submitted these results to the nutritionist at the Dongko Community Health Center for follow-up. (Yangdi Mafula)
