Real Action by UIN KKN Student Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung: Protecting the Environment by Community Service and Planting Trees in Sumberdadap Village

RESOURCES, PUCANGLABAN  – On Friday, 3 February 2023 We from the Health and Environment Division have implemented a work program, namely community service and reforestation around Sumberdadap Village. This work program is carried out together with all groups in this village, starting from the group 1, group 2, and also groups 3.

The aim of carrying out this community service is to clean the environment around the village hall and mosque as well as other public places. And the purpose of reforestation is to replant or reforest in Sumberdadap Village. We carry out this activity to invite and make every corner of society aware of the importance of awareness of caring for the environment and reforestation.

This activity was accompanied by the Village Head, village officials and community members. This activity starts at 07.00 WIB until 12:00 p.m 10.00 WIB. Here there is a division that must be done. Lots of areas to clean, At first all the students and community gathered at the village hall. We all cleaned the village hall together, then we divide the places, namely the main village square, Qur'an Education Park (TPQ), Masjid, Ditches along the way, and also special land that will be used for planting trees or reforestation.

             We searched for and prepared many trees that were ready to be planted. There are various kinds of tree seeds available, like a banyan tree, trembesi tree, spruce, teak tree, sea ​​sengon tree, and so on. The reason why we chose to plant tree seedlings was to adapt the soil and conditions in Sumberdadap Village.

The tree planting place is south of Pucanglaban Middle School, and also around the village hall area. Where is the process of planting trees, Mr Kasun also took part in helping friends with reforestation. The location occupied by reforestation is the chosen place that has been appointed by community leaders because the location is suitable between the trees and the soil.

This village can be said to be an area where water sources are somewhat difficult, Therefore, most of the trees planted by us are types of trees that can accommodate and hold ground water. With this reforestation activity, it is hoped that it will be able to maintain groundwater sources and provide benefits to the entire community of Sumberdadap Village.
