TULUNGAGUNG – Real work college concept (KKN) IAIN Tulungagung has penetrated the international world. Students are sent to Thailand to undertake KKN as well as practical field experience (PPL). There were six students who were sent to the land of the white elephant to take part in this activity.

Head of the Community Service Center, LP2M IAIN Tulungagung, Muntahibun Nafis, said that the six students who were sent to Thailand came from different departments.. He mentioned two of the Indonesian Tadris. Three students from Tadris English. Whereas, one person from Arabic Language Education. They are M. Iqql Kasim, Octavia Winda, Risqi Marifatul, Ahmad Asyad, Goddess Luluizzahro, Film Faridatun.

“We have taken them to a location in southern Thailand,” Nafis said, Monday (18/11/2019).

The author of the book Pesantren Pluralisme said:, The six students occupied four locations. Namely, Songsermwittya School has a student. Then, two students at Muslim Santitham School. Another person is Ekkapap Sasanawich. Furthermore, there are two students at Phatnawitya School.

The plan, continued Nafis, The students involved in the International KKN-PPL have been in Thailand for several months. Practically, There are two tasks that students must complete. Namely, KKN as a basis for community service. Besides that, they must complete PPL as a form of pedagogical scientific application.

Nafis said, while at Miftahuddeen School as the venue for the student handover ceremony. Around o'clock 10.00 there is a welcoming event. The event was filled with singing the Indonesia Raya song and the Thai National song. Then, there was a martial arts performance at the school and remarks from the leaders present.

“A very good response from the school, they are very polite and friendly,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs at IAIN Tulungagung Abd Aziz said that KKN is to mature students.

“So KKN is a student maturation process. Maturation of thinking, attitude and how to use their skills in the right way,” he explained. (aam/lp2m)
