SEMEN, GANDUSARI - On 23 January 2020 The Semen Village Polindes held a blood donation activity which was held at the Semen Village Hall. The event was attended by the people of Semen Village, assisted by IAIN Tulungagung KKN students in the village. The event section for this activity was Polindes women and there were also members from PMII Blitar city.
For initial activities at the event, donor participants were asked to fill out a registration form first on the paper provided. This is then continued with the Donor participants filling in the required data such as how old the prospective donor is, whether the participant is physically or mentally healthy, participant's weight, participant blood pressure etc.
“Because as we know, if you want to donate, The immune condition must be stable and there are no symptoms. After participants fill in the data, the event continues by sitting in the queue while waiting to be called by the event committee”, Explained one of the KKN students.
One of the residents said “This donor activity was quite well attended by the Cement Village Community from young to old. The spirit of socialism of the people of Semen village is very high in helping fellow humans, where a drop of blood means a lot to someone who needs it. If we are diligent in donating blood, our immune system will be better if the donor is in good health and has no complaints when donating.”
The initial activity carried out at the blood donation was a health check. The service officer begins to check the condition of the donor participant, starting with interviewing the health and disease history and then checking the participant's blood pressure., up to hemoglobin, body temperature, and the pulse to be measured.
After participants are declared healthy and able to participate in donating, the activity continues with blood donation where in this activity participants are asked to lie down in a place that has been prepared., then proceed with a sterile needle which will be inserted into the skin on the inside of the elbow during 8-10 minute.
Then one liter of blood and several tubes of blood samples are collected and after that the officer will cover the injection site with a bandage. The final activity after this blood donation, Participants are asked to rest to restore their body condition and donor participants are also given food and drink as well as vitamins to replenish the donor's energy.
