Batik Percik Rombo- The Batik Disability Village reflects the uniqueness of Indonesia. Batik is an illustrated cloth that is made by writing or placing wax on the cloth. The very long and complicated manufacturing process makes batik have more aesthetic value. This was discovered after IAIN Tulungagung KKN students in the village carried out mapping of the village's potential.
In Indonesia itself, There are various types of batik and each region definitely has its own unique motif. Cipat percik rombo batik is an abstract and exclusive motif batik managed by KSM Harapan Mulia Resapombo Village where this batik is made by children with disabilities. KSM Harapan Mulia carries out empowerment 20 people with physical and intellectual disabilities through batik activities.
Children with disabilities who take part in empowerment are spread across several sub-districts, namely doko district, wlingi, and kesamben. They come every morning at o'clock 08.00 until 13.00, there is a mealtime. Children with disabilities are directed in their activities by companions. A number of companions 10 this person directs, teach splash batik techniques, injecting or painting using a canting while teaching basic education about cleanliness and independence. But from 20 the child, only 15 Only children are active because others are busy at home.
In this place, children are also taught independence. So, they are taught to be able to provide for their own needs, not dependent on others. Besides that, They are also taught to always maintain cleanliness. When they are at home they are also busy looking for food for the goats, and cleaning the cage. On average, disabled children have pet goats.
The KSM Harapan Mulia Foundation currently focuses on the mentally retarded (mental retardation) So it is hoped that the companions will have extra patience. This foundation collaborates with the Bakti Nur Malang foundation, they accept all disabilities. Apart from that, it also collaborates with Budi Utama Hospital Surabaya in treating children with cleft lips. In this way, the Harapan Mulia foundation submits the data and then checks it. After that, further treatment will be carried out, namely surgery.
The Blitar city government held training during 16 day, The training includes processed food training, souvenir, and batik. However, what has been running so far is only batik, because if people don't accept processed food, they can't accept it. Percik Rombo batik is never short of orders, because the Regent of the city of Blitar requires civil servants (Government employees) to wear batik percik rombo. All departments in Blitar City also use percik rombo batik, starting from the cooperative department, education, farm.
