Ambon, 26 July 2024 – Pattimura University officially opens Real Work Lectures (KKN) Nationalities XII with themes “Strengthening National Values in Creating Independent Villages in the Archipelago Region”. This grand opening event was attended by a number of important officials, academy, and students from various universities throughout Indonesia.
Chancellor of Pattimura University, Prof. Dr. Fredy Leiwakabessy, In his speech, he expressed great hope that this National Community Service Program activity could become a means of strengthening the national spirit and improving the welfare of the people in the archipelagic region.. “The XII National Community Service Program is an implementation of Pancasila values, diversity in creating independent villages, especially in island areas which have unique challenges,"said Prof. Leiwakabessy.
This opening event was also attended by the Acting Governor of Maluku, And. Share IE, M.Si., who expressed high appreciation for Pattimura University's initiative in organizing KKN with a focus on developing villages in the archipelago. "The local government really supports this activity because it is in line with our vision to strengthen the economy and independence of villages in Maluku. Students involved are expected to be able to provide real contributions and innovative solutions for society.”
Besides that, Director General of Higher Education from Jakarta, Prof. Abdul Haris, also gave his speech, “National Community Service is one of our efforts to build national character and spirit among students. By going directly into the community, Students can learn many things and find the right solutions to various problems faced by communities in island areas. I am very proud and fully support this activity.”
The XII National KKN was attended by more than 500 students from at least 70 universities, both public and private in Indonesia. They will be placed in various villages in the Maluku region, with various work programs that include education, health, creative economy, as well as development of village infrastructure. These students will serve for two months, implementing various programs that have been designed to improve the quality of life of village communities.
One of the KKN participants, Mike Amalia, UIN student Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, expressed his enthusiasm to be involved in this activity. “This is a valuable opportunity for us to learn directly from the community and make a real contribution to village development. We hope to bring positive change and strengthen national values in society,said Mike.
With a spirit of togetherness and mutual cooperation, It is hoped that the XII National KKN will be an important milestone in the effort to create an independent village that is highly competitive and able to overcome various existing challenges.. Pattimura University is committed to continuing to support programs that can provide real benefits to society, especially in island areas.
