Kediri, Thursday – Saturday, 28 – 30 November 2024 located at Bukit Daun Resort and Hotel Kediri. LP2M UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung held an FGD activity on Strengthening Service Methods for Lecturers. As much 120 lecturer who is projected to become a DPL in the UIN KKN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah year 2025 get important material, This material relates to methods used in the field in the context of service. As is known, the methods used in service activities include: Participatory Action Research (PAR), Community Based Research (CBR), Service Learning (SL), and ABCD (Asset Based Community Development).

LP2M UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung presented a single speaker. Achmad Room Fitrianto as speaker, he is a practitioner and activist in the world of service. Besides that, He is also a lecturer at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya who received an international class central research grant from the Ministry of Religion. Room, Achmad Room Fitrianto's familiar greeting with the team carries a theme Community-Based Tourism Dynamics: A Cross-cultural Analysis of Indonesia and Australia Through Case Studies on Wagos (Breakfast Amusement Park), Sekapuk Tourism Objects (Setigi and KPI), and Araluen Botanical Garden”. This service was carried out in two countries, namely Indonesia and Australia.

During 3 (three) The lecturers received the following material today: a) Mentoring Paradigm, Social and Economic Mission, in One Move, b) Social Transformation, c) ABCD stages, d) Social Communication Techniques for Approaching Society, e) Community Mapping, f) partnership, g) Writing ABCD KKN Reports, and h) Service-Based Journal Writing.

At the welcoming session of LP2M Leader of UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah, Prof. Dr. Ngainun Naim said that this FGD was an institutional effort to make lecturers become participants in this activity, to become a lecturer with true meaning. "So friends of lecturers who are participants in this, During my time at the institution all I experienced was teaching. The lecturer's obligation should be to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education as well as possible, So in conditions like this, Devotion FGD activities for lecturers become one way to strengthen other elements of Tri Dharma, namely devotion".

As is known, that the Tri Dharma of Higher Education is the obligation of someone who chooses the profession of being a lecturer, namely education, study, and devotion. This last element is not touched as intensively as the other two elements, namely education and research. Forward, These young lecturers will also receive material related to the research context. So far, The institution has prepared research funds for lecturers which are competitive in nature. “So these lecturers also have the same opportunity to get research grant funds. Of course, the process must pass an assessment from reviewers and a committee.". This was conveyed by the Chancellor of UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, Prof. Dr. H. Abdul Aziz, M.Pd.I.

This service FGD activity is the Chancellor's effort to give appreciation to lecturers who have helped the success of Higher Education Accreditation (APT). Besides that, This effort also aims to strengthen the institution in terms of Human Resources (SDM). "I hope, This activity is able to increase lecturer competence in their Tri Dharma obligations, In this way, lecturers are able to carry out their obligations because they have chosen this profession, "The implication is that strengthening the institution from the HR aspect can improve well". This is what the Chancellor emphasized.

Apart from getting theoretical-conceptual material, Participants also practice directly in the field. Thus, Lecturers really feel the dynamics of being a servant in real conditions. It's not just limited to studying theory which looks easy.

Activity participants are divided into: 8 group to go into the field. Each group is assigned to do something transect or mapping the situation and conditions that exist in the field, then observe the advantages and disadvantages. So that the participants have an idea, what actions must be taken to give the object touch in the context of devotion.

FGD Activity Strengthening Service Methods for Lecturers, It is hoped that it will be a starting point for starting lecturer service organized by LP2M UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. So that the lecturer's service is carried out by the lecturer, in addition to strengthening institutions, Devotion can also improve the quality of life, overcome social problems that exist in society, and develop potential (asset) existing in society.
