Production of Sepet Pots in Gandusari Village which can be used as a main job

GANDUSARI, GANDUSARI – IAIN Tulungagung KKN students in Gandusari Village conducted searches in several potential villages. One of them is that the production of sepet pots in Gandusari Village, owned by Mr. Mujiono, can be used as a main livelihood. This sepet pot was originally made because Mr. Mujiono wanted to make use of sepet pots that were usually thrown away and become useful items.

These sepet pots come in various shapes and sizes, The first is a hanging shape with a sharp bottom, there is a flat bottom shape, some are also hung in three rows, Each shape has a different diameter. Why is it made in various shapes?? Because each region's interest in this type of sepet pot is different. For example, in the Kediri area, they prefer the shape of a hanging, pointed pot with a small diameter.

The production site is in Mr. Mujiono's own house with three employees. The materials and tools needed include sepet fiber, machine for twisting, printing equipment, needle, special thread used to tie sepet twists.

Making sepet pots begins by making twists of sepet fibers using a machine made by Mr. Mujiono himself, The next step is to print the pot by wrapping the twisted fiber around the printing tool and tying it with thread.

Sales of this sepet pot have spread to several cities, including Blitar, Kediri, Tulungagung, Pasuruan and several other cities. So the production of sepet pots can be said to be successful and very profitable as a main job. (Irma Budi, Novi Ayu. Gandusari 1)
