Karangrejo, Tulungagung — As much 510 Real Work Study students (KKN) UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung was officially handed over to the Karangrejo District Government during the opening of the KKN UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung Year 2026 which was held on Wednesday (15/7/2026) at the Karangrejo District Hall, Tulungagung Regency. The students will carry out community service during 38 day, start 15 July to 21 August 2026, through various community empowerment programs that carry the theme “Digital Literacy Towards an Environmentally Friendly Village.”
The opening event was attended by the Head of Karangrejo District, Drs. Suhartono, S. Sos., M.M., along with the District Secretary, elements of Forkopimcam Karangrejo, as well as the ranks of LP2M UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung consisting of Dra. Hj. Umy Zahroh, M.Kes., Ph.D. (Head of the Center for Gender Studies, Child, and Disabled/PSGAD LP2M), Dr. Lailatuzz Zuhriyah, M.Fil.I. (Head of LP2M Research Center), Didin Wahyudin, M.Pd. (LP2M Secretary), and Dr. Luthfi Abdul Manaf, M.Pd.I. (LP2M Journal and Publication Center). Also present was the District Coordinator (Korcam), Village Coordinator (Kordes), as well as representatives of KKN post administrators throughout Karangrejo District.
The activity begins with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya and Mars UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung as a form of strengthening the national spirit and love for the alma mater.
In his speech, Karangrejo District Coordinator, Nizam, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the acceptance of KKN students in Karangrejo District. He hopes that all students can take advantage of the KKN momentum as a means of learning directly from the community.
“We express our gratitude for the acceptance of KKN students in Karangrejo District. Hopefully during the implementation of KKN we can learn together with the community, obtain direction and guidance from sub-district and village governments, so that the entire work program can be carried out well,” he said.
Furthermore, representing LP2M UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, Dra. Hj. Umy Zahroh, M.Kes., Ph.D. officially handed over the KKN students to the Karangrejo District Government. In his speech, he explained that UIN KKN is ONE YEAR 2026 followed by 4.108 student, which consists of 1.112 male students and 2.996 female students. Of this amount, as much as 510 students from various study programs are placed in Karangrejo District.
He explained that the theme of this year's KKN was “Digital Literacy Towards an Environmentally Friendly Village”, which is expected to be able to encourage village transformation through strengthening digital literacy that remains oriented towards environmental sustainability.
Apart from Regular KKN, LP2M UIN SATU Tulungagung also organizes various other service schemes, including Inclusion KKN, KKN Around Campus, Commonwealth KKN in Ponorogo Regency, and KKN Nusantara Religious Moderation in Banten Province.
On this occasion, Umy Zahroh emphasized that KKN is a real learning space for students.
“Lectures on campus basically provide theoretical provisions, while life in society is a real lecture. That's where students learn to understand reality, adapt, collaborate, while implementing the knowledge that has been learned,” he said.
He also expressed his appreciation and thanks to the Head of Karangrejo District and all village heads who had accepted UIN SATU Tulungagung KKN students.. He hopes that the students will gain direction, assistance, as well as valuable experience while carrying out community service.

Meanwhile, Head of Karangrejo District, Drs. Suhartono, S. Sos., M.M., expressed his appreciation for the trust of UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung who again chose Karangrejo District as the location for implementing KKN.
“We feel proud and happy because Karangrejo District has again been trusted to be the location for implementing UIN SATU's KKN. This is the second time we have accepted KKN students from UIN SATU, and we welcome all participants with great joy,” he said.
The subdistrict head hopes that students will be able to build good collaboration with the village government and community, while making a real contribution through innovative ideas.
In line with this year's KKN theme, He hopes that students can help strengthen village digitalization, especially in developing MSMEs through digital marketing, increasing society's digital literacy, as well as education regarding the safe use of digital financial services so that people avoid illegal online lending practices.
Besides that, Students are also expected to be able to actively participate in various community activities, including enlivening the commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the village and sub-district levels.
As a symbol of the start of the implementation of KKN, The Head of Karangrejo District officially opened the UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung KKN Year 2026 while also giving ID cards to KKN student representatives. The activity then continued with a group photo of all the participants as a form of synergy between UIN SATU Tulungagung and the Karangrejo District Government in building society through education, study, and dedication to the community.
The series of activities closed with a prayer led by representatives of the Office of Religious Affairs (DONE) Karangrejo District.
Through the implementation of KKN which took place on 15 July–21 August 2026, LP2M UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung hopes that students will be able to implement science in real life in society, Strengthen collaboration with village government, as well as presenting innovations that support the realization of advanced villages, environmentally friendly, and adaptive to developments in digital technology.
