Kedungsoko, Tulungagung – As much 15 IAIN Tulungagung students who are members of the Brantas KKN Complete Collaboration of PTNs throughout East Java IAIN Tulungagung Kedungsoko Command Post begins cleaning activities along the banks of the Ngrowo Tulungagung River (12/1/2020).
Activities Cleaning of the Ngrowo riverbanks starts from the Kedungsoko sub-district border and Tretek sub-district, Kedungsoko sub-district itself is included in the watershed area ( River Flow District) Brantas. They clean up the garbage – trash inorganics around the banks such as plastic bags, pack food light, laundry soap to styrofoam.
Kedungsoko Tulungagung Village Coordinator, Khabib, said that this riverbank cleaning activity was one of the directions from the Governor of East Java to be able to provide environmental education and empowerment for watershed communities from upstream to downstream of the Brantas River. “The governor wants students to play an active role in educating the public, especially regarding awareness of the cleanliness of the Brantas River from upstream to downstream.” he said.
The activity of cleaning the area along the banks of the Tulungagung Ngrowo River itself will become a routine for the Brantas Complete KKN students Collaboration with PTNs throughout East Java IAIN Tulungagung Kedungsoko Post during 35 in the future to be able to provide education and an example to the community to care and be able to maintain the cleanliness of the river area.
Tulungagung sub-district coordinator KKN Brantas Completes PTN Collaboration throughout East Java IAIN Tulungagung, Agung Budianto, said that it is possible that in the future the cleanup of the Ngrowo riverbanks will involve the local community and related agencies.
“Moment this is us (KKN students) I'm still cleaning the riverbanks myself this, However, we are not closing ourselves off if we later invite youth organizations, riverside residents, youth community or service – related services for together to clean the banks to the middle of the river” he said.
Brantas KKN Completed PTN Sejatim Collaboration is one of the programs launched by the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa to reduce pollution that occurs in the Brantas River. He said that the governor had great hopes for synergy and becoming a role model in handling the Brantas river watershed area. Apart from the river normalization program, students are also asked to be able to identify social conditions, economics to public health. Recorded 5000 students from 16 PTNs throughout East Java took part in the Brantas Tuntas River KKN, They will be placed upstream to downstream of the Brantas River. (Do & Nila_Posko Kedungsoko)
