Book Donation: Spreading Benefits to Millions of People

26/02/2021-The Book Anthology Division organizes book donations with the aim of spreading benefits to the world of literacy, especially in the Kradinan Village area, Pagerwojo District, Tulungagung Regency. Book donations are directed to SDN 1 Kradinan and SMPN 2 Pagerwojo.

The total number of books donated is: 84. Several genres of books donated include:; elementary school level textbooks, SMP, and high school, magazine, dictionary, as well as other fiction and non-fiction books. The textbooks provided must be in accordance with the current curriculum, namely the curriculum 2013.

The criteria for books to be donated are:; does not contain elements of SARA or pornography, New or old books as long as they are worth reading, in the form of textbooks suitable for elementary school level, SMP, and high school (Not a worksheet), in the form of fiction or non-fiction, suitable reading for children and teenagers, and the number of books is not limited.

Book donations take place during 16 days since 05 February 2021-20 February 2021. Donation reception areas are divided into five, namely Tulungagung, Malang, Sidoarjo, Gresik, and Jombang. Where each region has its own person responsible for gathering in Kradinan Village.

Before distributing donated books, several members of the VDR KKN book anthology division 099 confirmed the school on Thursday, 25 February 2021. Namely to SDN 01 Kradinan and SMPN 02 Pagerwojo. When members of the anthology division offered to distribute donations, a teacher at the SDN said the condition of the library was very alarming. Finally we took the initiative to clean the library on Friday, 26 February 2021 while providing donated books.

Books are windows to the world, a storehouse of knowledge and an icon of civilization for all nations in the world. When the book fell apart, Certainly the civilization of a country is not doing well. This means that books are an important element in national development, especially in the world of education. “From the book was removed, it would be good if it was donated so that it benefits the whole community,” said one member of the anthology division, Novita Ayu Rachmawati.

84 The books collected are sorted based on educational level to suit the age of the students. Friday, 25 February 2021 five members of the anthology division carried out community service to clean the Kradinan Elementary School library 01 after handing over the book donation. The donation was handed over to Mrs. Tina Susanti as the Principal of SDN Kradinan 01.

He stated that the condition of the library was very worrying. Therefore, the existing books will be sorted according to the applicable curriculum and the rest will be burned. Five division members helped clean the library enthusiastically. Organizing books, clearing the table, chair, and several learning report documents (RPP, Prota, promise, and student report cards).

After donations and community service activities are completed, followed by handing over donations to SMPN 02 Pagerwojo. The division team was welcomed by Mr Fatkhurrahman, one of the teachers at SMPN 02 Pagerwojo also serves as a postgraduate MPI lecturer at IAIN Tulungagung. Then take photo documentation. The donation activity went smoothly even though there were several obstacles, Some of the books donated were not in accordance with the applicable curriculum. So the division team must select and sort books carefully.

With the book donation, it is hoped that it will provide benefits for all people. Especially people in mountainous areas such as Kradinan Village. In fact, book donations that were to be submitted to the village government were postponed and diverted to schools because the village library was still under construction. (NAR-UUSY-RED)
