DISCLAIMER, PUCANGLABAN - On 11 February 2023 Socialization and training regarding Oyster Mushroom Cultivation was held at the Panggungkalak village hall. The reason we chose the mushroom cultivation training work program was because the cultivation process was easy and had wide market opportunities. Added more, Mushrooms are a plant that can be processed into various dishes.
This event was organized by the Panggungkalak KKN economics division 1 by presenting resource persons, namely oyster mushroom entrepreneurs in Tulungagung. He is Iba Hidayat or his nickname, Bung Dayat, whose address is in Pakel village, Campurdarat. The material presented covers the process of cultivating oyster mushrooms from the initial stage to the final process.
These stages include the first Mixing, namely the process of mixing the ingredients used for planting media which consists of rice bran, sawdust, lime powder, corn powder with a little water to maintain moisture. Second Filling, where in this process the mixed planting media is put into special plastic and then the compaction process is carried out.
Third, Sterilization is a process where the semi-finished planting medium is steamed for approx 6 hours at 98°C. Fourth Cooling namely the process of cooling the planting medium after the sterilization process. And the last Inoculation namely the process of planting mushroom seeds in planting media. After the seeds are inserted, The top is given a ring and then covered with newspaper which is secured with a rubber band.
Ready-made planting media or baglog The samples were transferred to a special bamboo rack and left in the incubator room for a period of time 30 day to baglog evenly white. After the incubation process, The mushrooms are moved to a special room called kumbung which is then arranged on hanging shelves made of raffia rope. Actually, placing oyster mushrooms does not have to be in a completely closed room.
Placing oyster mushrooms is enough to maintain humidity at an intermediate temperature 19 -24°C. If you feel the temperature in the room is hot then you need to water the floor. The incubation process takes approx 30 day. Expiration period baglog is 3 month or can be harvested up to 7 kali. Baglog Those that are no longer used can be recycled as worm cultivation media and briquettes.
Apart from explaining the stages of cultivation, The resource person also explained how to market them and how to obtain the ingredients used for cultivating oyster mushrooms. The event was attended by residents of Panggungkalak village enthusiastically and took place in a conducive manner. At the end of the session, Bung Dayat also opened up the opportunity for the participants present to try making it baglog.
Through this socialization, It is hoped that it will be able to increase community knowledge and be sustainable so as to encourage the creation of new businesses in the Panggungkalak Village area to improve its welfare.. Before holding the socialization, the economic division team visited his home. Our arrival there was warmly welcomed by Bung Dayat.
After we explained about the work program we want to run, he took us to the production site while explaining the steps involved in cultivating oyster mushrooms. When we looked at the production site, we also carried out field practice to make baglog. After we felt we had gotten enough information from him, we took photo documentation and said goodbye to go home. [Panggungkalak Community Service Program 1/WFF]
