MOUNTAIN GEDE, WONOTIRTO – Apart from water, Lights are also a basic necessity that cannot be ignored. In Gunung Gede Village, Wonotirto, Blitar still lacks lighting, especially street lights. Until along the way, Motorists rely more on the lights from their vehicles. The lack of street lighting at night is a problem because many people are usually still active, plus road access is up and down and has holes and is badly damaged..
Because of this background, UIN KKN student Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah, especially from the economic division team, our group was moved to create a work program for installing street lights. Light installation began at 09.00 WIB and installed along RT roads 04 RW 02 starting from the front of the Al Mosque- Waqfu Nurul Iman reaches the border of Kalikenongo Hamlet. This activity was assisted by Mr. Wandi as head of the local RT and PLN officers as well as local residents.
KKN students contribute directly to the installation of street lights, such as preparing equipment or supplies for installing street lights. Followed by mapping to determine the points where the lights will be installed and checking the lights- is the light still on? (feasible to use) or not. Don't forget, we also prepare food for the people who participate in installing the lights.
The participants included some local women who made drinks for the community and KKN friends who participated in installing the lights. This street light installation activity was welcomed very enthusiastically and received good appreciation from village officials and residents of Gunung Gede Village, especially Kalikenongo Hamlet.. This is shown by the enthusiasm of the residents when taking part in mutual cooperation activities.
Even though it was hampered by rain and the terrain was quite difficult, it did not hinder the enthusiasm of the residents to continue taking part in installing the lights. After installing the lights, the community and KKN friends rested at the security post near the T-junction. We and the people who participated enjoyed the dishes provided by friends. We hope that the installation of these lights will make it easier for people to carry out their activities at night and reduce the number of accidents caused by a lack of street lighting.
