WONOTIRTO, BLITAR – UIN student Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung who is part of the KKN team in Wonotirto Village, Blitar Regency carries out social service with the Tadabbur Alam program with the theme "Making the Invisible Visible" which is the action of planting tree seedlings to overcome the water crisis.
This agenda was followed by Wonotirto KKN participants, which is a series of collaborative agendas between group one and group two KKN teams which were attended by various levels of society such as youth organizations., village head, local youth, and the surrounding community who are united in one forum to jointly protect nature as an alternative to overcome the water crisis problem in Wonototirto Village.
The community was very enthusiastic in participating in this activity. The chairman of the Pungkalan Hamlet Youth Organization said, "Thank you, sir, for helping us in our efforts to deal with the water crisis in the village, The people of Pungkalan Hamlet are very grateful for this activity, and it is hoped that this can be useful to help with the water problems in Wonotirto Village".
In this case, the KKN team apart from paying attention to plants as problemsolve related to water, but also pay attention to the economic aspect of the surrounding community. The KKN team selected six types of seeds, ie ; If, Durian, Longan, Tabibuya, Bread, and Red Guava. This plant can also absorb and store water, The fruit can also be sold as an effort to help the local community's economy.
It is hoped that there will be economic value in this tree, people can love the trees they plant. The Village Head believes that the action of planting two hundred and fifty tree seeds really helped the village in its efforts to make the Asri Village program a success, this program requires all people to plant at least one tree in their house. With this action, the community is helped a little in completing these obligations.
It doesn't just stop with planting two hundred and fifty tree seedlings in Pungkalan. But also moving towards the village field to plant Tabibuya flowers, This flower is on the rise at the moment, because the flowers are very beautiful like cherry blossoms in Japan. This flower was initially introduced by the Surabaya government in 2020. The hope is that these flowers can provide shade and become a tourist attraction for the local community. [Wonotirto/WFF KKN]
