Trenggalek – In an effort to increase public awareness of the importance of child protection, Real Work Study students (KKN) Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah State Islamic University Tulungagung (UIN ONE) successfully held a seminar entitled "Strategies for Facing the Threat of Child Sexual Abuse in the Digital Era" at the Banaran Village Hall, Tugu District, Trenggalek. The event took place on 21 August 2024 It was attended enthusiastically by the parents of SDN Banaran students and local residents.
The seminar presented experienced speakers in the field of child care, Mrs. Endang Suprapti, SPt. from the Child Protection Agency (LPA) Trenggalek. In his presentation, Mrs. Endang not only provides an understanding of various forms of child sexual abuse, but also highlights the new challenges emerging in the digital era. He provides practical tips for parents, guru, and society to protect children from the threat of sexual violence.
According to him, ada 5 forms of online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (OCSE), namely sexting or sending messages online in the form of words or images, videos with sexual elements, second, Grooming as a form of enticement for sexual purposes online, Three, Sextortion is another word for online sexual blackmail, Four, Live streaming, based on live broadcasts of sexual violence online,
“the last one is CSAM ( Child Seksual Abuse Material ) Material depicting sexual violence obtained from computers/digital media” he explained.
Apart from informative material, It is also enlivened with interesting activities such as showing good communication practices to children, and open dialogue with participants. This makes the seminar atmosphere more lively and participants feel more involved.
Chair of the UIN SATU KKN group, Haidar Alfatuq, expressed his gratitude for the success of this event because it could provide benefits to the community, especially as a student who is doing Real Work Study. "We hope that this seminar can be the first step to create a safer environment for children in Banaran Village,he said.
