Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung has officially established an international collaboration with the Sadra International Institute (GIVE) in the form of signing a Cooperation Agreement (PKS), which was held at the K.H. Arief Mustaqiem this morning. This collaboration marks a joint commitment to strengthen the role of Islamic Religious Higher Education in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the field of collaborative research, reputable scientific publications, and dedication to the community.

This event was attended by University Leadership, Technical Implementation Unit, Chairman of the Institution, Secretary and Heads of Centers, Kajur, Guilty, along with the Coordinator of Study Program/Head of Study Program and witnessed directly by the academic community. From LP2M UIN SATU, The signing was carried out by Prof. Dr. Drink Naim, M.H.I., as Chair of LP2M. Meanwhile, The Sadra International Institute was represented by Dr. Abdelaziz Abbaci, Director of the Sadra International Institute and intellectual from Algeria with expertise in the field of contemporary Islamic philosophy.

In his inspirational speech, Chancellor of UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, Prof. Dr. H. Abd. Aziz, M.Pd.I., conveyed an in-depth reflection on the suitability of intellectual direction between UIN SATU and the Sadra International Institute, namely the journey from philosophy to Sufism. This is the path taken by great classical Islamic thinkers such as Imam Al-Ghazali, who after sailing the sea of ​​philosophy, discover spiritual depth in Sufism. This pattern is also reflected in the figure of Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah, The great figure who inspired the name UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, and in Mulla Sadra, the great Iranian philosopher who founded the al-hikmah al-muta‘āliyah school—a metaphysical synthesis between reason, intuition, and spiritual experiences.

The Chancellor emphasized that the path from philosophy to Sufism is not a setback, but rather an epistemological leap towards enlightenment of the soul. "As Al-Ghazali, Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah also confirmed scientific transformation that is rooted in rationality and results in spiritual piety. We continue this legacy through the scientific traditions on this campus, including through Madrasah Diniyah activities (Madin) every morning which is our effort to continue the chain of knowledge and spirituality from Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him," he said..

Dr. Abdelaziz Abbaci also said that this collaboration was a bridge between nations in reviving the spirit of inclusive Islamic scholarship., philosophical, and contemplative. "Sadra Institute believes that Islamic philosophy must continue to dialogue with global social realities without losing its Sufistic roots," he said in his speech at this activity.

Dr. Abdelaziz Abbaci expressed his optimism regarding this collaboration. He saw great potential in the development of philosophical research, theological, and social based on contextual and solution Islamic values. Forward, Collaboration between LP2M and Sadra International Institute will be schemed into several strategic activities. Some of these activities include:: developing the quality of scientific and educational studies and teaching in the fields of Islamic sciences and humanities; book Review, scientific seminars in related scientific fields at national and international level; increasing the competency of university journal managers and study programs through information exchange programs between journal managers; and organizing Short-Course programs in related scientific fields between the two parties, both at home and abroad.
