By FLOWER,CONTINUITY- In an effort to be directly involved in community life in the Siraman village area, especially Cimpling hamlet, Health and Environment Division, KKN Siraman 1 year 2020 with support from field supervisors, participated in the posyandu program in the Cimpling hamlet area. The aim of this activity is to review and observe the health of the Cimpling community, especially toddlers and the elderly.
In this activity, the health and environment division not only came to visit but was also involved in posyandu activities in Cimpling hamlet with direction from the local midwife, Mrs. Mus.. Posyandu is often identified with toddlers and early childhood. However, recently posyandu does not only serve toddlers, Posyandu also serves the elderly as well. This is none other than to support government programs for the health of children and the elderly.
There are several services available at the Cimpling hamlet posyandu when the health and environment division takes part in these activities, Services include the toddler post, which provides monitoring of the growth and development of toddlers which includes weighing their bodies, body height, head circumference, and there is also a complete immunization and handled directly by the local midwife.
Posyandu in Cimpling village also provides check-up services for the elderly. In this case, the elderly in the Cimpling area were recorded and given directions to attend the elderly posyandu activities on the same day and place as the toddler posyandu.. Like at the toddler posyandu, to monitor the health of the elderly, they are given a card, the contents of which include identity as well as disease history and the health development of the elderly. The procedure in the posyandu is that the elderly queue to be recorded and examined. The examination carried out is in the form of a weight check, blood pressure, and heart rate. For further examination such as blood sugar, gout and others are subject to an additional fee of fifteen thousand rupiah.
The duties of the health division in posyandu activities in Cimpling hamlet include assisting posyandu cadres in weighing babies and toddlers., fill out the BKIA (mother and child health book) and make graphs of children's growth, At the posyandu post for the elderly, the health and environment division also helps officers prepare medicines and record elderly people who come that day..
Apart from examination services for toddlers and the elderly, That day coincided with a visit from the community health center which provided guidance to mothers of toddlers and breastfeeding mothers. The direction given included informing residents that there was a mental clinic at the community health center which was directly handled by a mental specialist..
This mental health clinic serves on Saturdays and is open to all residents who feel they have psychological disorders for consultation or treatment. Apart from that, community health center staff also provide delivery services 24 jam. And in the framework of the clean and healthy living program, community health center officers provide counseling for smokers in Cimpling village.
