Probolinggo, East Java- Wednesday 24 July 2024, Probolinggo Community Community Service Student, carried out the first project, namely vegetable care techniques. KKN participants were seen helping farmers in the rice fields. The aim of this activity is to help residents and at the same time learn the ins and outs of the process of caring for lei plants in the fields. Not only that, KKN students also provided a brief overview of sustainable vegetable processing and care techniques. In this dry season, Ngadisari Village residents plant leeks (Long onion) and cabbage. The fields visited were adjacent to residential areas, this makes it easier for participants to help, learn, and study together further and more intensely.

This activity began with an introduction and socialization of the program to farmers, where we explain the aims and benefits of this collaboration. After that, we went straight down to the farm to help take care of the leek plants. The care process is carried out carefully according to the directions of experienced farmers. This kind of thing is important as a collaboration between farmers who certainly have field experience and academics who have technical backgrounds.

In addition to helping on the farm, Participants also held group discussions with farmers to provide solutions to the challenges they faced, especially during the dry season. Various kinds of input, solution, and the suggestions given may help farmers. Various concrete efforts have also been made, such as helping farmers find practical locations for water containers and so on. The desire for this collaboration has long been awaited by the local community. Therefore, in this short period of time, the community and KKN students are trying to maximize collaboration in various sectors, especially agriculture.

The Chair of the KKN said "Through this activity, we increasingly understand the challenges faced by farmers in protecting crops from pest attacks, we hope with the knowledge and experience we have gained, we can contribute better in supporting and empowering farming communities in this country".
