TULUNGAGUNG – Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) State Institute of Islamic Religion (IAIN) Tulungagung, organize further training for Field Assistant Lecturers (DPL) Community Service Program (KKN) wave II year 2019, Tuesday 16 July 2019.
The briefing was accompanied directly by the secretary of the Directorate General (DIRECTOR GENERAL) Islamic Education (HANGED), Dr. Imam Shafi'i, M.Pd. as the main resource person.
Head of LP2M, Dr. Drink Naim, M.H.I. at the opening of the event, delivered this briefing activity in order to develop the quality and capacity of the IAIN Tulungagung KKN DPL.
"The KKN program at IAIN Tulungagung includes programs that provide innovative results such as KKN student notebooks which are useful as a source of information for the community.," he said at the beginning of the event.
Delivered by Ngainun Naim, IAIN Tulungagung KKN was carried out in two waves and currently we will carry out the second wave. Therefore, the provision of DPL KKN IAIN Tulunggung needs to be carried out to provide insight into community service, so that the KKN program at IAIN Tulungagung can be more innovative and beneficial to society.
Muhammad Aziz Hakim, M.H., Head of the Community Service Section, Sub-directorate of Research and Community Service, Directorate of Islamic Religious Higher Education, explains the importance of understanding between the Regional Government and local educational institutions in implementing service programs.
"As in the KKN program, it is actually creative, means making a visit, service and cooperation with mutual understanding with the Regency Government (REGENCY GOVERNMENT) locally through an MoU (memorandum of understanding),” he said in the DPL briefing forum.
Muhammad Aziz Hakim said that this KKN program is actually a research-based community service, where the results of this KKN program really help the community and local government in extracting field data. Therefore, an understanding with the District Government is very important in the smooth running of this year's KKN program.
Continuing a long conversation at the DPL KKN briefing event by the Secretary of the Director General of Islamic Education, Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Imam Shafi'i, M.Pd. He explained the importance of innovation from DPL and KKN students when providing training.
“Innovation is important because there are three main campus tasks, namely producing Scholars, Creator, And Inventor," according to him in the DPL KKN briefing.
Dr. Imam Shafi'i, M.Pd. explain, Scholars can be created through the usual learning process. Throughout the learning process was carried out well, a student will be able to graduate as a bachelor. But not all graduates can become Creators, let alone being an Inventor. At this point the lecturer plays an important role.
Dr. Imam Shafi'i, M.Pd. adding several criteria something can be called innovation, so that innovation built into every campus activity does not lose its "spirit"..
“Something is said to be innovative if it fulfills at least three things, that is: the first, the best, and the different,he said.
Said Dr. Imam Shafi'i, M.Pd., These three aspects are important to pay attention to if you want to provide an innovative dimension to the campus. Routine activities on campus without innovation will lose their "spirit". Innovation that makes campus activities always dynamic and presents new things.
Dr. Imam Shafi'i, M.Pd., added four things related to the type of lecturer. First, The type of lecturer who just thinks. His days were spent just thinking and arguing. Second, lecturer whose hobby is writing what he thinks. Third, lecturers whose hobby is doing what they write. And fourth, the lecturer who wrote what was done.
“Lecturers should choose the right position among the four types to support innovation,” he said.
Ending the DPL briefing session, Dr. Imam Syafi'i invites all DPL to dare to dream big. Big dreams are an effort to determine direction for clear goals. Dreamless, progress will not be achieved. Of course, the dream must be translated into a real program.
