KARANGANYAR, WEEK – The people of Karanganyar Village, Pule District, Trenggalek Regency still preserve their ancestral traditions. The community holds Ngruwat on Sunday (28/07/2019) hold a healing event, located at the local village hall. This event takes the theme "Clean village nguri-nguri Javanese culture".
Ngruwat has become a routine tradition that has been held since long ago every month of selo (Javanese month).
”This event was held in the context of cleaning the village which aims according to the people here who still adhere to Javanese customs, that the aim is to pray and ask for help from the creator so that the Karanganyar village area is protected from danger.,” said the Head of Krajan Samsudin Hamlet.
Treating starts around 10 p.m 08.00. Residents of surrounding villages, village officials, and KKN students (Community Service Program) IAIN (State Institute of Islamic Religion) Tulungagung came to witness the healing ceremony.
“This morning's event was opened directly by the puppeteer Mbah Gemak, the puppeteer who guides the ngruwat pickles who are invited to ngruwat every year at this village event,” said Samsudin.
After the event opened, The event continued with the ngruwat reciting Islamic prayers and Javanese prayers. Then, followed by pouring prayer water around the village hall with the aim of acting as a fence to protect it from dangerous embers.
”After the series of events, the ngruwat agenda was carried out, ending with a thanksgiving meal together until 12:00 p.m 12.00 "The event is over," said Samsudin, explaining the sequence of events.
Samsudin hopes that Karanganyar Village will be even better in the future, continue to preserve existing culture.
Nisa, one of the residents of Karanganyar village, made a very impressive ngruwat.
”My impression is that this event is good, because his intentions are good. Pray together to find safety, especially in Karanganyar Village,” he said when interviewed.
Not only IAIN Tulungagung students participated in enlivening this event. But there are students from other campuses such as IAIN Kediri who are also taking part in KKN in this village,
"The effect is good, enthusiastic, This will also maintain mutual relations, and this is an experience for me for the first time.
